Google Caffeine: Experience Google’s New Search Engine Index

Hello Everyone, Good Evening

Hopes you are well. I know that you all are familiar with Google Caffeine: a next-generation architecture for Google’s web search. I have just went through one article about it which was written by Vanessa Fox on Searchengineland.com. She cited nice information about Google Caffeine.

She did one experiment for the search query “buffy the vampire slayer” in the current Google as well as Google Caffeine and at the end of it she felt good i.e. better.

After reading this article, I also did one experiment for the query “cheap price selling shirts in ca”. But when I saw the results on new infrastructure, I really disappointed. As I just found one related result to my search query,
[cheap price selling shirts in ca ] which I have listed below:

I then returned to the current infrastructure (i.e. Google.com), but, got the same results. There was just least results(1 or 2) found related to my search query. Check out,

So, I sent a request to Google development team, that it would be appreciated if you can add this functi0nality to Google Caffeine that categorize that shirts and t-shirts are different product. It may be lots of stuff on the world that will have minor change in the word but product will not be the same.

What Should We Do With Expired or Outdated Pages – SEO Consultant

I have recently encountered with one nice article about “How should I treat expired pages on my site?” on webmasterworld. He has cited an agreeable argument that it will take a lot of resource for Google to crawl all these old(expired) pages and so it may be possible that Google can’t crawl the other important page of the site. And, having too many outdated or expired pages reduce your site link juice.

So what’s the solution for this?

301 Redirect or 404 Page?

One of the Seo Experts, Ann Smarty, has mentioned commentable solution for both techniques with its pros and cons. Have look at here, How to Get Rid of Hundreds of Short Term Pages

As per my knowledge, it would be good if we select the second one i.e. 404 Page. We can give two options to users to slap on our site. One is to go to Home Page where they can find the other information as well. Second is to give a search box on that 404 page that they can find the relevant information of their choice.

I don’t know that am I right or wrong. I just give my suggestion.

What would you think about it?

Update in the Description of Google SERPs – SEO Consultant

Hi, Good morning to all of you. Another good day that boost my self confidence that requires to everyone, Am I right?

I have found another implement in Google search. Do you believe it? Have you(SEO Specialist) ever encountered with this one(check the below image) ?

You are going to see that Google is shown a link in the description of one of the search engine results with “anchor text“. Further, there was a content says “Jump to” that was not found on that search result page. What will be the purpose behind it? Is Google feel that that link give the most relevant information to user than a content which are on that page? Or Anything else?

I want to know your opinion about it. Please cite in the comment.

Encounter with Google’s Recently Update in Search Description – SEO Consultant

As usual, owing to seo services provider, I tried to check my client’s website ranking for one of the targeted keywords and I found another changes in Google search that now they are displaying more charcters (in my case 314 characters) in the description of the site in search engine results. I mentioned of that screen shot as below:

Now, some question were arose in my mind at that time.

  1. Should it be allowed to all 10 results(I was able to see only 2 out of 10) ?
  2. Will it be positive effect on user as well as business owner, if they allow to all results?

I think Google is testing this new feature and want to show how many users are click on those listing. If they find good reviews of it, they will definitely allow to all.

As per my assumption, this may be helpful to user as by reading it user has more chance to understand that that page is related to his/her search querry instead of opening it in new browser.

On the other side, that will be positive effect on business owner as they do not get traffic that are not related to his/her business. So, they can get the actual traffic of his/her business site and try to find other innovative thoughts to get more traffic.

At the end, Google is try to compare with Bing on this feature as it already shows more description at the right side of every listing. I would say here that Bing betted to Google here.
